Good day. I would like to take this unique opportunity to let you all in on some information. Something you would not otherwise be privy too. This information is that I woke up at the exciting hour of 10am and went to the grocery store. I bought unbleached coffee filters and some boston creme muffins. 2 Muffins to be exact. I have eaten them both and they were delicious.

With all the muffin madness in my stomache I felt I needed to expunge some of the sweetness. To do so it required I make something for everyone to look at and enjoy. Or to not enjoy. That is your choice.

What I made is furry and furious. And you can take important note that due to the placement of hands there is NO WAY it’s nipples could ever be visible!!

Here it is: My Yeti

And if you are melting with desire to see it’s face more better then this is for you.

And if you don’t like yetis, then this is for you. Unless you dont like cowboys either. In which case, I have nothing but good intentions for you.

Also, I watched A Dirty Shame by John Waters last night. That movie was Hilarious. But as a fair warning, it is rather perverse. But in a funny way.

Have a good rest of your collective saturdays. !!!!!

Here is what I have been working on this weekend.

A wee little painting. Something to keep me busy and keep me working. More below the fold.

All I wanted with this was to do something with a background with some sort of architectural elements. I have not done any such thing in a long time. I also didn’t want to fall back on some lame perspective excersice. Nor did I want to do some wonky sci-fi-esque space building. So I made this. I used no real perspective. which may have been a bad choice. But for a busy work painting I think it’s probably fine.

Here are some stages of the process.

Early on. Stuff is blocked in. The only thing that is mostly finished is the rocks.

Add in some clouds and clean up the tree a bit

Add some texture and windows/doors to the buildings

And the last stage was painting the fella with the cloak thing. This is a detail of his face.

It was a fairly quick process. I didn’t use and mediums, i.e. matte medium, gloss medium, retarder. Just water and paint. And the paper was mostly un-prepped.

It has served it’s purpose. I think I am mostly happy with it.
