Alright, I said I’d post some sketches I did while on vacation, so here are a few. They really have nothing to do with anything during my trip. But whatevs.
Without further ADO:

I spent the weekend in NYC. I am back now. Times there were good. Some sketches were done there, albeit not related to the city. But I can only assume the location offered some vague inspiration in some obtuse way. They may be posted later.
Anywho, art updates should be coming soon. It has been too quiet on this thing since its inception.
Till then….
Well, I think I have moved over all the art stuff I am going to move.
I am still adding some of the bloggy bells and whistles that I like to use.
More links in the sidebar will be added too.
And I notcied the link to my website was broken thanks to a missing “, and have now fixed that link.
I have decided to peel off the art stuff into it’s own blog, tied to my website. This is that blog. It is still under some degree of construction.
Suggestions welcome for the time being.

Edit to add: I am moving a handfull of the more elaborate art posts from my previous blog over here.
I have spent the evening with some fine folks to the tune of Chris and Lindsay working on stuff and things at the TEA GARDEN in Saint Paul. Why? It is monday, and monday is my fun day. Anywhoo, yall may remeber this sketch:

I decided to title it pencily. I also decided to change it into a beautiful image so I did. This is that image
:

I titled this one BW Facey. Because it is a black and white face. I then decided it needed some rad color. SO I added some. I dont know if it rad or not but it is color, and has cloud thingies. Anywhoo, this is it:

In this form I titled it Color Facey. I would try to explain that name but I think it is to complicated and would give you all headahces.
*Edited for redundancy
**Edited because I wanted too**
Well, now for the sketches I promised. Enjoy the crap out of them please.

I titled this one “Loggy” because its someone sitting on a loggy type thing.

I titled this one Hairy, because she has hair on her head.

I call this one heady, because the dude has a forehead.
All three of these sketches (and more) were done over the past hour or two with a black uni-ball pen in a strathmore series 400 recycled 60lb paper sketchbook of the amazingly useful size of 11×14. It has a lovely forest green cover.
More later.
I spent more time in my sketch book this weekend than I have in a good long while. I broke out the pencils and got a new sketch book and started to draw in it with a bit more intent than what I have been doing, which is super quick pen sketches.
It has been a touch difficult to slow down and work things out a bit more.
Anyway, here is some of the stuff I layed down.

This was done on friday I think. It used some photo reference but ventured off a bit.

Nothing to add to this one.

I have been lazy about drawing clothing lately. SO I wanted to add some in this one.

Here is a page of faces with varying degrees of rendering.

I did a bunch of little building drawings from photo reference. But this was done without any. It also turned out better than the referenced ones. And building are something I should draw more than I do.
Anyway, thats just a bit of what I did over the weekend. Hopefully a bigger more substatial project is righ around the corner.
