So ya’ll remember that painting I have been working on for ever? Well, I have decided it is done. I have also thought long and hard about what a title for it should be.  After many hours of deliberation and careful thought, I am leaning towards: Tree Dude. See, there is a dude… in the tree. Makes sense to me.

Anyway, the painting:

Now, in case that’s not big enough for good quality seeing, I am including not one, but TWO detail shots!!

Orange hair?  Bubbles?!?  Tentacles!?!?!  Now, I am questioning my title choice….

And the second detail I promised:

That guy should comb his hair…

That’s all.  Hopefully it wont take me 2 months to make my next painting.

Here is a new vector piece I am working on.

It is based off of a very quick and loose sketch I did in my sketchbook.  I had been wanting to do something with that sketch for a while, and this is what I have done.

Right now, I do not think it is a “finished” piece, it feels more like a doodle to me.  Perhaps this opinion will change, or perhaps I will go back into it and see how far I can push it.

I managed to get in several hours of painting time this weekend. I made some definite progress.

It is feeling very close to done. I think I just need to pull out some of the highlights a bit further and do some general refining across the canvas. But it is close.
