Another night, another cardboard square. I more or less timed this one. It took about 1hr 45min. Which is pretty quick for me I think.
Here it is:

So I have decided to continue doing more of these cardboard square paintings. A series of sorts. This is the latest addition:

Here is another cardboard painting. The ‘person’ seems to have some lizardy qualities…

I recently purchased the book Art Forms in Nature by Ernst Haeckel. It’s a nice book of old drawing of various nature things, it’s quite lovely and nice source of inspiration. I pulled a form out of the book to make this painting. Which, as it went on seem to take on some degree of similarity to the Mona Lisa as well… Not intentional, as there was really no intention going in, just a shape from nature as transcribed in a book. Anyhow, here it is.

I decided to paint something different today. Well, different for me anyhow. Here is the gas meter in my bathroom.

So, I have a tendency to occasionally enjoy en episode of 30 Rock. And recently, while watching I opted to doodle a couple of the people from it. Specifically, Kenneth and Frank. So here they are.

Pen, and Acrylic paint in a moleskin.
I decided to make another quick cardboard painting this evening. This time I adjusted the palette slightly and ditched the use of Payne’s gray, and used raw umber instead for the dark. I had to throw in some mars black at the end though… This one took 2 or 3 hours I suppose.

I made this painting full or robots. I did not bother to plan out ahead of time what I was going to paint exactly. As it stand, I think this one got away from me.
