Fantasy!

I think we can all identify with Fantasy Art.  It seems to speak to the masses in ways other art can’t possibly imagine.  I mean, who doesn’t want to be an elf or a giant or make bubbly punch in the woods while wearing a cloak?  I wouldn’t want to meet that person…

Anyway, these paintings were done to help one of my good friends.  The goal: Fantasy Art, or something vaguely resembling it…  All done with acrylic on watercolor paper and all started out at 4″ x 6″ but a few got a touch larger as I painted outside the borders…  Oh and I monkey’d with all of them in photoshop…  I had tons of fun making these.

This is a Barbarian.  He killed a monster on top of some rocks.  He is now survying the desolate landscape looking for a place to partake in some relaxing activities.

This is an ogre with bad teeth.  He is waiting for the dentist.  Though judging by those skulls, he’ll probably eat the dentist before he can get his teeth fixed.  The life of an ogre is rough.

This is a Lady Elf hanging out in some woods.  It should probably be assumed Elves don’t get cold like normal folk, or those are some above average temperature woods, but I doubt it…

This Orc seems to be leading all those other Orcs into some sort of Orc battle.  This Orc has to be a leader so he can hang back, since this Orc’s helmet doesn’t fit him very well, and this Orc would prefer to avoid any head-related injuries.

Remember all that talk about bubbly punch in the woods? Well, isn’t this just a dream come true!  And I think those three witches are going to have good dreams after drinking all that delicious bubbly-punch.

This Skeleton King has the right idea: eat bones.  There is not a lot of food in underground-skeleton kingdoms, but they do have one abundant natural resource: bones. Lots and lots of bones.  And since Skeletons don’t have taste buds the lack of flavor doesn’t matter.  Everyone wins this time.

There is a reason frequenting caves is sometimes frowned upon.  You’ll either run into giant slobbery monsters, or if you happen to be a giant slobbering monster, there is a high likely hood some jerk with swords will come into the cave and give you grief…

This poor Giant really just wanted some clothes.  But when the tailors showed up to measure him for his swell new suit he accidentally ate them instead. He should be friends with that Ogre.

That’s all the fantasy art I have.

I mentioned before I had done a 9th portrait for my Twin Peaks series.  A painting of one Sarah Palmer.  I did not include it with the others as I don’t think it looks a thing like Sarah Palmer.  I do like it OK on its own merits, so will share it now.Copyright © 2009 Jesse Riggle
