Huh, a Super Awesome Art Challenege?!
I was invited to participate in a group art blog headed up by my friend Adam. The blog in question is the Super Awesome Art Challenge, Which will have a monthly topic from which to work. December was a ‘Cowboy Christmas.’
I had not a lot of time for this one, I made it in photoshop doing some good old fashioned painting with a mouse, much like the old timey cowboys would have had to do, before they invented those new-fanged digital pens.
This is either Santa in a cowboy hat. Or just a cowboy with a huge white bearded wearing his red long johns… I leave the answer to that mystery to you.

Maybe it is another cowboy…
I was mindlessly doodling in Illustrator and this is what came of it. It seems reminiscent of the cowboys I was briefly working on a year or two ago.

Edit to add: Made a slight change to the look of the blog as well.
Cowboys: 003 *updated*

I mostly finished this one for now. Here it is:

This one is not quite finished, but I am being slow, so thought I should put it up in its current state.
It should be finished in a day or two.

In other news, the painting is moving along. More on that later.
Cowboys: 002
Here is the second cowboy in my continuing series of quick vector cowboys.

I think this is more one of those sorts who knows cowboys…
Cowboys: 001
A quick explanation: When doodling I tend to draw a lot of goofy looking cowboys and other people that look like they might know a cowboy. Now, I don’t particularily like cowboys, or westerns, don’t hate them either. The point is I draw a lot of them, and I have been using those drawings as a source for continuing to play around in Illustrator. I figure I will post them here. I am hoping for 2 a week on average, until I stop anyway…
And here is the first one:
